Cakes and Creative Clocks

I obviously love creative clocks, and was so delighted to include so many artful clocks and creative "time pieces" in Creating Time, representing the work of 80+ contributors!
When presenting creative clock-making workshops, I love to use cake bases -- also called "cake circles" as the "canvas" on which to create the clock. Usually made from corrugated cardboard, and available in packages at most craft stores, cake bases provide a sturdy surface that is pre-cut in the size of your choice.
Cake bases are also great to use for other circular creative projects, such as:
- Mandalas
- Sun dials
- Sunshines
- The "Sol Spinner" game I presented in the recent Sun Money Smoothies teleclass
- Yin-Yang signs
- Lollipop :-)
- Anything else with a circular design
