More than a colouring book. As well as the pages for colouring, this book includes tips for colour mixing, a short historical background to the fables, and lesson ideas for teachers (or parents involved in home-schooling). Unlike most colouring books, which contain poor quality illustrations, this book is based on the beautiful 'Baby's Own Aesop' by Walter Crane, published in 1887. The wonderful art-deco style illustrations have been rendered in sepia so that the outlines don't dominate the colouring. An abbreviated, verse-style fable is included on each page which provides the opportunity to introduce children to the wisdom of these popular stories.
The ebook format allows you to print out copies as needed, which makes it very valuable for use in the classroom, or with a group of children. A black and white version is included for those who do not have access to a colour printer.
Despite the title, the book is really more suitable for children age 7 or older.
