Mandala pattern formed from detail of grevillea flower, mounted against blurred abstract of photograph background. A play on the complexity within floral forms. Colours: pink-orange, yellow, black & green.

These wearable mini-artworks began their lives as photographs of the native Australian flowers in Carmel's garden - taken during a break from computer work. Upon loading the images onto her Mac, Carmel became entranced by the abstract patterns in the details and began to rearrange the pieces into new forms.
The images are printed onto photographic paper, mounted on strong card, glazed and gilded. The brooches are beautifully presented in organza bags, and are accompanied by a miniature book with photos and information on Australian grevilleas.
Equally at home with winter or summer clothing, these unique pieces are part of a limited edition, individually signed and numbered by the artist (max. of 300 in the total series).
